Using anatomical data to create cell- and network specific anatomical fingerprints, NeuGen generates realistic cell morphologies and integrates them in large networks. Network sizes up to the order of 100,000 spatially resolved neurons can be used in numerical simulations.
NeuGen allows the user to export network information to common file formats like hoc, NeuroML and ugx. Networks can thus be used within simulators such as NeuroBox or NEURON.

Together with NeuroBox networks of up to 100,000 spatially resolved neurons can be simulated. The current goal is to allow for 1,000,000 detailed neurons. For this purpose novel parallel geometry handling is required.
