Initiated by our colleague in 2015, the Temple University Graduate Student Conference in Algebra, Geometry, and Topology has immediately become a very successful national annual research forum for graduate students in Algebra, Geometry and Topology.
Thank you to all who contribute to making this such a big success!
Congratulations to our colleague Vasily Dolgushev who serves as co-PI on a recent NSF grant (along with PI Dmitry Tamarkin and co-PI Boris Tsygan) supporting an Emphasis Year in Non-commutative Geometry at Northwestern University.
The signature event of this effort is the conference "Modern Trends in Non-commutative Geometry", May 20-24, 2019, Northwester University.
Please join us in thanking faculty Maria Lorenz and Bach Nguyen and graduate students Brandi Henry and Khanh Le for running a very successful Cryptography workshop for the STEM High School Program at the Franklin Institute yesterday.
Our department's eight edition of the Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day took place this past Saturday and, by all measures, was a great success. The event brought together 83 middle school girls, 8 high school girls (who, under the mentoring of faculty, served as assistants and were involved in the delivery of the origami and tessellations workshops), and an enthusiastic team of mathematics faculty and students.
Please join us in thanking our group of organizers:
• Brandi Henry -- graduate student
• Rose Kaplan-Kelly -- graduate student
• Maria Lorenz -- faculty
as well as the group of faculty and graduate students who served as instructors and assistants for the program:
